Days of Aaliyah...

i started my morning listening to a collection of all Aaliyah's songs, its reminds me of days when every girl's fantasy was to be a cool tomboy...the bandana, the revealing Tommy boxers underneath the saggy baggy jeans and of cause the Timberland boots. I remember miming to one of Aaliyah's songs in secondary school,uh-mm... memories will linger...
i will like to know your favorite Aaliyah song, mine is definitely "more than a woman" i mimed to it in secondary school and i have it on my iPod on replay at the moment....

Sleep is a voluntary state of rest... An average adult is required to have between 6-8 hours of sleep.

But I know of a woman that goes to bed at 2am wakes at 4am as a routine and yet she's perfectly fit and well, whilst I complain bitterly when I get less than 10 hours of sleep, especially when grandma wakes me. How long do you sleep for?

‎Today marks another day in history, another teenage Nigerian girl will be crowned Miss Teen Nigeria. Its amazing how time flies. The lingering memories of 6yrs ago, as we all stood as contestants on the Muson (Agip hall) stage waiting and hoping that we would be chosen and crowned queen.

I was 18, probably the oldest of the contestants with a chronic lack of self confidence, not to mention the smallest in size amongst the lot, being just 5ft4inches at the time while other girls were 5ft7inches and above.

I wasn't the prettiest or the most intelligent, I guess my smile gave me away as I emerge the 1st runner up to Miss Teen Nigeria and my beloved friend Nonso Ijomah was crowned queen.

So here's to all the contestants awaiting and hoping to be crowned queen. Greatness lies within you and the only way it shines through is when you became aware of who and what you are. You all are queens: beautiful in and out, intelligent, bold and possessing gives far beyond what mortal eyes can see. Let nothing bring you down, let you hearts be calm and your faith unyielding, for this will be a day not soon forgotten.

To the Miss Teen Nigeria pageant crew; Aunty Robina(Ceo Missteen Nigeria pageant), Aunty Pauline(Chaperon) and everyone on the team. Thank you for believing in me and contributing to who I am today.

During office hours i am addressed as Miss TOMI; that's the part of me that works a 9-5,and this is what i do during office hours: i work on project TOMI. I'm sure you assume that i should be having so much fun working on myself but i get so bored and drained sitting in one spot all day and starring at the computer in front of me, even when i have nothing substantial to do. But, one day, i stumbled on an article that made me enjoy my 9-5...here's the link http://ping.fm/Bkl6j so you too can enjoy your 9-5 as well.

Once upon a raining day...

A wet Sunday is far better than a rainy Monday in so many ways. I have been home all day, except the time I went to the market to buy stuffs for the house and guess what? I cooked!, white rice and source. Its’ not a good Sunday without ’Sunday Rice’, I had a sleep over with my girlfriends so it is a full house and they all enjoyed the meal despite the fact that i haven’t cooked in a huge while. I’m sure you wonder why I have lack proper kitchen attendance or more precisely a 3month absence.
Well, even though I grew up with a grandmother who expects me to turn into a conventional Traditional girl with all the appropriate skill set including cooking, cleaning and making babies’ (let me say a least I think I can make babies…lolz), I’m still not at home in a kitchen. I won’t say I’m a bad cook but I’m really not a kitchen person , I just like to do it whenever I feel like it and that doesn’t come so often. House chores aren’t really my thing either, maybe because it has always been an obligation and trust me when I have an opportunity to escape from it, I do so with staggering dedication.
Now, would I call that laziness? Even though that’s what my grandma calls it and I really don’t care, all I care is doing what I want, whenever I want to and not feeling obligated to doing it. And really that takes me back to a wet Sunday as this I would just like to eat and sleep or cuddle up with my booboo(if you know what I mean…). That’s the luxury a rainy Monday can’t offer you, so enjoy the wet Sunday.
